Adallah demands an investigation into police brutality against demonstrators in Ramle last week

The Adallah centre filed an urgent complaint with the police’s internal affairs department and the ministry of justice, demanding an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the arrest of 17 protestors in front of Ramle prison and police station last week, during a licensed  and peaceful demonstration in solidarity with Palestinian political prisoners.  The complaint reveals the extent of brutality used by the police towards those arrested, including one minor: acts of torture (the use of tasers on handcuffed detainees), verbal and physical abuse and sexual harassment, including threats of rape.

UPDATED: The IOF arrested 3 including a woman in the village of Fardis

Ma’an is reporting the IOF arrested three people, including a woman, in the village of Fardis east of Bethlehem.

Update: the names of those arrested are ‘Ali Abu Muhammad (41), Ibrahim Abu Muhammad (55) and his wife Shadia Abu Muhammad (48).

Clashes between the IOF and local residents in Beit Ummar leave many injured

Sources within the village say the IOF raided Beit Ummar (north of Hebron) and boarded several rooftops, targeting people who attended the solidarity tent with the hunger striking political prisoners. The IOF used rubber coated steel bullets, tear gas and stun grenades, causing multiple injuries, and several people had to be evacuated to the nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Israeli court demands 20,000 NIS bail from Kufr Qaddum detainee

In a hearing at the military court in Salem, the judge put forth the 20,000NIS bail demand for the release of Riad Shteiwi from Kufr Qaddum, who was arrested 5 April of this year with 19 other people. The Kufr Qaddum popular committee is now inviting international solidarity activists to visit the village, and also expose what they call blackmail by the IOF as a form of collective punishment.

The IOF raided the offices of the Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements

Around 1:45 am (Tuesday), the IOF raided the offices of the Popular Committee (the Stop the Wall campaign)  in al-Bireh. The IOF blocked the streets nearby, preventing access to the building, and then stormed the building, breaking through the main doors, causing extensive damage to equipment and furniture. The soldiers confiscated computers and cameras. This is not the first time the IOF raids the headquarters of the popular committee. In 2010, a similar raid resulted in arrests of activists as well as confiscation of equipment.

UPDATED: The IOF arrested 12 people overnight

According to the IOF spokesman (via Ynet), the people arrested are from Beit Rima, Deir Qadis and Harbata (north west of Ramallah), al-Kum, Beit ‘Awa and Yata (Hebron area).

Update 1: The name of the man arrested in Hebron is Muhammad Rasool Muhammad Taha Abu Sneineh.

Update 2: The man arrested in Beit Rima is Saddam Rimawi.
